Paris shrug by Garnstudio

Strikkebob at Craftster made this cool shrug using a free pattern from Garnstudio (see link above). The pattern’s only available in Nordic languages, so I volunteered to translate it.

ETA: Garnstudio has finally released their own English translation of this pattern, so mine is no longer necessary. Please visit here to see the English-language pattern.

Note: This is my first time translating a knitting pattern. If you find a mistake, please let me know so that I can correct it. In places, instead of a literal translation, I tweaked the English to make it sound more natural for English-speaking knitters.

Comments and suggestions most welcome!

  1. Do you have any idea what weight yarn was used for the Paris shrug? I’d really like to make it for my daughter. Also, any idea what the chest size for the Large or X-Large might be?

    Thanks,
    Shelly

  2. Hi Shelly,

According to Garnstudio, the ideal gauge for Paris yarn is 17 sts x 22 rows per 10x10cm swatch.

There’s more information about this yarn here:

I couldn’t find a standard sizing chart anywhere on the Garnstudio site, but you should be able to calculate the fit from the number of stitches cast on and the gauge.

    Good luck!
